Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on the treatment of certain neurological and/or musculoskeletal disorders, and the effects of these disorders on general health, without the use of pharmaceutical drugs or surgery. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches and may or may not involve joint manipulation as a tool to help achieve treatment goals.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound is a powerful and painless tool used to provide real-time images of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and cartilage throughout the body. It helps identify whether further imaging, like an MRI, may be necessary. This is useful in determining whether or not a patient is a surgical candidate for an injured joint region.

Electrodiagnostic tests measure the speed and strength at which electrical impulses travel within and between nerves and muscles for patients who may be experiencing pain, weakness, tingling, and numbness. The tests utilized are electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) testing, which can help determine whether a damaged nerve or damaged muscle is the source.

Dr. Rinku Kuril is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, who specializes in electrodiagnostic testing. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Neuroscience. He continued on to graduate with honors from Stony Brook University with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012. Dr. Kuril is a registered musculoskeletal medical sonographer (RMSK) with the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement (APCA), as well as aClinical Electrophysiologic Certified Specialist (ECS) with the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).

Dr. Bobby Mozafari is a chiropractor specializing in physical therapy, as well as a certified Primary Spine Practitioner. He started his career in the St. Louis, MO area, and eventually opened his practice in Olney, MD in 2014. Dr. Mozafari has been successfully treating patients in an outpatient since graduating from Logan University with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2009.
